Hamasisha Africa (meaning "Kuwezesha Afrika" in Swahili) or "Empower Africa" was established in May 2018 as a platform for empowering communities in Africa. The organization focuses on providing capacity-building programs that promote conflict transformation, livelihoods support systems, and gender empowerment.
In 2019, Hamasisha Africa obtained official registration as a charity organization under the Company’s Act 2015, Laws of Kenya. It is now a registered company limited by guarantee with the registration number CLG-YXF83Y.
Hamasisha Africa takes a participatory and community-driven approach to empower local populations in addressing key social challenges, from gender-based violence to conflict transformation.
